Roadcraft is a not-for-profit, 40-hectare driver education and training facility in Gympie that’s been committed to reducing road crash deaths and life-changing injuries for over 46 years.
Roadcraft has a safe, low-risk, defensive driver education course for all drivers, but we focus heavily on novice drivers who, sadly, are over-represented in road trauma statistics.
Through partnerships with high schools, Roadcraft provides senior students with access to a potentially life-saving driver education course. Thanks to their private property training facility and dual-controlled vehicles, even pre-licensed students can participate and gain valuable hands-on experience before obtaining their licence.
It is a tragedy that the first time most novice drivers get to test their response to an emergency braking situation is when their life depends on it, when things can, and sadly do, go terribly wrong.
Roadcraft can include essential training that can’t be done on public roads so they can circumvent this and arm young drivers with the techniques they need to make them safer, more aware and more attentive.
