Pocketful of Meaning creates gentle, science-informed stories and tools that turn big feelings into calm, connected moments.

Founded by registered psychologist, author and mum Joanne Sorley, this Australian business brings psychological knowledge and everyday parenting experience together through engaging children’s books and playful, practical resources.

From Mia and the Missing Colours to Ollie and the Inkstorm and The Big Feelings Club series, relatable characters help children explore emotions, feel understood and discover ways to navigate life’s tricky moments. Companion emotion cards, games, Pocket Helpers and grown-up guides bring the stories into everyday conversations and opportunities to practise.

Created for families, educators and allied health professionals, Pocketful of Meaning supports emotional literacy, regulation and connection at home, in classrooms and in therapeutic settings. The approach is gentle: helping children understand their feelings while giving the adults beside them accessible ways to offer support.

Discover gentle stories and playful tools that help children understand their feelings, and grown-ups feel more confident supporting them.
