Tony has been a Chess teacher in a large number of schools on the Sunshine Coast for 30 years, including Public, Private, Independent, Home-schooling, plus festivals and a variety of chess events. He is also a coordinator of Tournaments and Days of Excellence on the Coast, with on occasions, over 300 children participating. For more than 10 years he has been teaching with his daughter, Tulia- running before-school chess sessions.
Currently he is the Junior Development Officer for the Suncoast Chess Club and a recent Regional Coordinator for the Chess Association of Queensland.
