Bianca Edgar is a Sunshine Coast-based children’s picture book author, cybersecurity expert and mum of two primary school kids – a combination that makes her uniquely placed to talk about keeping children safe in a digital world.
With over 15 years of experience working with global software and cybersecurity companies across the Asia Pacific region, Bianca has spent her career translating complex cyber threats into plain language that organisations can act on. When her own children started asking questions she struggled to answer simply, she turned that expertise toward a new audience – primary school kids and their families.
Her debut picture book, Who is Bob the Blob? A Story about Online Safety, is an Australian-first — a curriculum-aligned children’s book for ages 6-10 that teaches kids about fake online profiles, digital strangers and safe online behaviour. It is aligned to the Australian National Curriculum (Digital Technologies, Years 2–4) and is used in classrooms and homes across Australia.
Bianca delivers author visits and parent workshops at primary schools across Queensland and nationally, helping families start the online safety conversation – before something goes wrong.
