Education Fair Exhibitor Profile: Little Kickers Sunshine Coast
Learning through play: Little Kickers give your children a positive introduction to sport by teaching high quality football (soccer) skills in a friendly, pressure-free environment.
There are four different classes tailored specifically to the needs of children between 18 months and seven years of age:
- Little Kicks – 18 months to 2 years 6 months
(Parent participation required)Little Kicks is the perfect introduction to the fun world of Little Kickers. Children are introduced to the basics of football (dribbling, striking, goal scoring etc.) in a play-oriented yet structured format, using child-friendly but realistic football equipment. Each child is given the opportunity to work within their ability level but taught in a group environment. Classes also provide a fantastic opportunity for you to assist in your child’s early education, helping them develop physically as well as improving cognitive and social skills. - Junior Kickers – 2 ½ years to 3 ½ years
(Parent participation is not required but parents/carers are required to stay with their children)Junior Kickers builds on the foundation skills and football basics learnt in Little Kicks. Using a familiar structure, children are challenged both physically and mentally. For those children who started in Little Kicks, independent participation is encouraged. If your child has just joined us, you may need to stay close by for a few weeks, but the ultimate goal is for children to be able to participate on their own. The format remains learning through play and because children are allowed to work to their own ability, it is suitable for complete beginners. - Mighty Kickers – 3 ½ years to 5th birthday
(Parent participation not required but parents/carers are required to stay with their children)Mighty Kickers are confident with boundless energy and this is catered for in the lesson plans. Our games are fast-paced and increasingly football focused, with fun still at the heart, meaning that even new starters easily pick them up. Children begin to understand the importance of team play and matches are gradually introduced. - Mega Kickers – 5 years to 8 years (Parent participation is not required, but parents/carers are required to stay with their children)Mega Kickers is the culmination of the preceding age groups. It brings together all the skills learnt and introduces them to real football matches. Children continue to develop social and cognitive skills as well as hone their football skills, putting them to use at the end of each session during the 20-minute match. There is a focus on fair play, as well as a focus on knowledge, understanding and practical application of the rules of play.
It’s the perfect way to ignite an enthusiasm for sport that will stay with them for life.
