The Kokoda Youth Foundation is an Australian charity with a mission to transform the lives of young people through their three flagship programs. Combining outdoor experiences and challenges, mentorship, community service activities and the values of Kokoda, participants leave the program with greater resilience, confidence, and purpose.
Founded in 2004, the Foundation’s programs have helped thousands of young Australians by instilling courage, endurance, mateship, and sacrifice. These characteristics were inspired by the Australian soldiers who embodied these values as they fought on the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea.
The Kokoda Youth Foundation offers its programs free of charge, largely thanks to the support of generous Australians. Every year, thousands of participants take part in the Foundation’s Kokoda Challenge events, testing their limits in teams and fundraising for the organisation. Since 2005, the Kokoda Challenge has grown to become Australia’s toughest team endurance event, playing a crucial role in supporting the Kokoda Youth Foundation’s enduring mission.
